About.

Travel the world, as an independent photographer, imagine life.

Learn, understand, tolerate, enjoy, live - inhale different conceptions of life (all that TV [and the web] cannot give).

An Amazigh saying from the Moroccan Atlas: Those who rush are already dead. And Alain de Botton in The Art of Travel: Journeys are the midwives of thoughts. Take time and ponder - is from myself.

Land Rover Defender 6x6
Link to Foley

The prime vehicle is a cool 6-Wheeled Land Rover Defender, Foley's made, which needs a lot of caring attention. Some times we use other transport, however - with fuel prices up and shortages to come maybe we switch entirely, - some day.

The idea, adventure, project had been growing in my head for years. This feeling inside, the desire to leave and live a different life, it made it too easy to give up a job, give all other stuff away and hit the road. 22nd of June 2004.

In May 2005 I meet Hasna, Moroccan, she comes along! We are married, have two twin boys, Daniel and David. This Fab Trek continues. Photography and Journey, Story of Life Around the World.

I love Music, Art, Festivals and photography there off.

What has happened so-far?

  • 2008 - From Ouagadougou to Bamako, I fly to Vienna in Jan, and with my family back to Mali, then Senegal, Guinea Bissau. On my own I head south, pass Guinea into Sierra Leone, then Liberia, into Cote d'Ivoire and back to Bamako.
  • 2007 - Vienna, Austria, the birth of our twin boys Daniel and David, then the long way back down south (BDS) with the newborns, via the South of Italy, France and Spain to Casablanca, Morocco, on my won further to Mauritania, Mali, Guinea, back to Mali and down to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
  • 2006 - starts out in Segou, Mali and ends in Bamako, Mali and so much in between. Twice back to Vienna where we get married, twice back down south to Mali, a great festival in Essaouira, Morocco in June and the Guinea adventure at the end of the year.
  • 2005 - the remaining time in England (the 6x6 conversion) and the Africa journey - Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal/Gambia. In Morocco I meet Hasna, she comes along.
  • 2004 - all the travels in Europe, mainly England, Scotland, Ireland and the fact that I met Heidrun who made me come back to Austria for 2 month. She then came travelling with me - for a little while.
  • Preparation - The period in Vienna when I started cooking up the idea of leaving until the final step (early until 22nd of July 2004).
